osé Maia
was born in 1959, in Santo Tirso, Portugal.

1980-85 - Graduation in Painting from ESBAP; 1985-87 - Post Graduation in Painting from St. Martins School of Art, London (Scholarship of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation); 1988-89 - Master in Painting from Royal College of Art, London; 1983-85 - Assistant teacher of the Painting Course from ESBAP; 1984-85 - Assistant teacher of the Architecture Course of Árvore Cooperative; 2005 - Jury Member in the I Painting Prize of Santa Clara Gallery, Coimbra. At present he lectures Artistic Production Techniques and Art Studies at Instituto Politécnico of Tomar.
