José Monteiro
was born
on the 29th of December, 1956, in Aveiro, Portugal.
He has kept a
permanent activity in the area of Plastic Arts since 1973.
He participated
in 72 Individual Exhibitions and 130 Collective ones, being some of
them Biennials and National Contests of Painting and Ceramics, of
rigorous selection (with
Award Prizes).
He also keeps
Thematic and Itinerant Exhibitions, such as "Library" and "My
bicycle loves my Planet".
He's member of the
group AVEIROARTE since 1979, collaborating regularly.
He has also collaborated with other Artists Organizations, namely:
ÁRVORE Cooperative of Oporto,
Artists of Gaia Cooperative, MAC of Coimbra, ARGO of Gondomar,
ANAPPlastic Arts National Association and CANTARTE of Cantanhede.
He has made
several field trips to 21 countries, where he visited Foundations,
Museums, and Contemporary Art Galleries.
His work is represented in several particular and official
Art Collections both in Portugal and abroad. |
